Our Process

We truly believe in quality over quantity. Which is why we make sure to check in on the process ourselves every time; assuring the entire process is done right.

1.Preparation

To prepare, we will come to your home.  During this consultation, we will walk you through the building process and answer your questions about owning a swimming pool.

2. Design

We will put your ideas to work and prepare 3-d design video and drawing of your property, showing you the exact location of your pool. We will also show you our vast amount of pool templates that may give you an idea of what you are looking for.

3. Excavation

Before we excavate your pool, a representative will stake out your new pool. The stakeout will be based on your design; and as soon as you OK the layout, we will dig the pool.

One of our contractors will use the latest equipment to excavate your pool and get it ready for the rest of construction.

4. Steel

Steel reinforcements will be put in on a box style on the sides and bottom of your pool. This is the skeleton of your pool & gives concrete strength.

7. Tile & Coping

Coping is installed around the perimeter of your pool. The coping is professionally set in place and leveled.

The tile is also carefully placed and leveled to the inside of your pool to give it a beautiful finished look.

10. Homeowner Responsibilities

The Homeowner is responsible for the following unless otherwise specified in the contract: Sod, Landscape, Fencing, sprinkler systems, and alarms. Please note these items must be installed before final inspections. All fences must meet Florida building code, the gates must self-close and self-latch, and they must swing to the outside. All gate latches must be 54" high from the ground. Existing fences will need to be re-inspected.

5. Plumbing

The plumbing is designed to take advantage of the most efficient equipment on the market today, to keep your pool clean and purified.

8. Deck & Pool Equipment/Electric

Now that we are entering the final stages of your pool’s construction process, the pool equipment you’ve selected will be delivered and installed. The pump, filter and heater (where applicable), are all installed on concrete equipment pads designed to withstand hurricane force winds up to 175 mph.

11. Clean-Up & Final Inspection

During this phase, we remove any trash that was created during the construction of your pool, and also complete the final grade of your yard. (Unless specified differently on contract)

6. Gunite

Our special mix of gunite is applied under high pressure to bind tightly around the steel. This results in ultimate strength & structure for the base of the pool.

9. Plaster

Plaster is the last step in the construction of your pool.  The plaster is a hand-troweled waterproof plaster finish. After this, it’s time to add the water!

12. Fire Up & Pool Knowledge

Once your pool is full, we will energize your pool equipment, make sure the finishing touches are done and the chemical balancing process is completed. Once we have properly balanced your pool water, you will be notified as to when it is okay to start using your pool.

When the pool is balanced our we will contact you to schedule an orientation. This orientation will answer any questions you may have about your new pool, as well as show you how to properly use your pool equipment.

We make sure to treat your property as if it were our own. Dolphin Pools & Spas is focused on bringing you the best service, making sure you know you went with the right company.
